Abstract

Introduction: The assessment of recovery following a treatment in heart failure patients is mainly on clinical evaluations. This study aimed to introduce a non-invasive and less expensive method based on QT dispersion value to evaluate the recovery of heart failure patient patients. Materials and Methods: This was an experimental and clinical study conducted on 52 ischemic cardiomyopathy patients with the diagnosis of decompensated heart failure. The QT dispersion index was measured with an electrocardiogram device before and after treatment. Results: The QT dispersion in the heart failure patients was decreases after treatment. I addition,QT dispersion in the heart failure patients with diabetes was more than the non diabetic counterparts. Conclusion: The treatment of heart failure decreased QT dispersion which was statistically significant. QT dispersion values in diabetic patients were more than the non-diabetic counterparts which was statistically significant. 2016,International Journal of Pharmacy and Technology.
